CEO Shimizu wants to convey to students: "Rather than taking shortcuts, give your all and take the long way around" - Report on the summer event for the class of 2023
At ZEALS, we are hosting summer events bi-weekly for students graduating in 2023. In the survey conducted after the first event, all participants reported being very satisfied. We received wonderful comments from participating students such as, "This was the most fun and the most educational event I've ever attended" and "It provided an opportunity to seriously engage with my aspirations and goals. I was moved by how much ZEALS was willing to offer." Here’s an overview of the event content.

Voices from Participating Students

In response to the question of “How do you want to approach job hunting?” CEO Shimizu conveys the message of “Not taking shortcuts, but putting in all effort to take the long route.”
The event attracted students whose job-hunting activities are about to get serious.
In the first half, CEO Shimizu passionately talks about the current situation where the "chat commerce" business he arrived at, along with chatbot technology, has garnered global attention, sharing stories from before and after he started his business.
What hasn’t changed since starting the business is the fervent desire to "boost Japan and brighten Japan's future." To achieve that goal, he has overcome numerous detours and difficulties. It has not been a matter of progressing efficiently by planning backwards, but rather pouring sweat into tackling the immediate tasks at hand. He valued whether he could convince himself more than he could convince others.
Currently, Zeals has set the vision of "hospitality revolution" to deliver Japan's world-renowned hospitality culture to the world through technology. Many like-minded peers from around the world have gathered around this vision. It is precisely because we took the long route with full effort that the future has become visible.
CEO Shimizu concluded the top live by expressing hope that everyone will perceive this as a new way of thinking as they start their professional lives.

Collaborating with others to "Recognize one's will and express it in one's own words"
In the second half, we will conduct a workshop to recognize one’s own "WILL."
Zeals aims for a society where each individual's will shines, and with the collaboration of the general incorporated association Imakoko Lab, we planned an original workshop to help everyone who participated in the event find their "WILL."

Cooperation: General Incorporated Association Imakoko Lab
To start, we will introduce the contemporary situation of uncertainty and difficulty in predicting the future with the theme "Understanding Today's Society - The Era of VUCA & Transform," and conduct a question-and-answer format workshop to help participants recognize their new selves as an output.
Even for those who have been repeatedly doing self-analysis, the aspects they currently see may only be the tip of the iceberg. Participants will be encouraged to reflect on what truly matters to them from their childhood memories, experiences, and feelings. The new graduate recruitment team hopes this workshop will serve as a starting point for deeper exploration from a new angle and deepen self-understanding through discussions with other participants. In fact, students who participated have shared comments like, "I thought my WILL was 'wanting to contribute to society,' but this workshop helped me understand where that will came from," indicating its usefulness for their future career development.

I hope the messages that provide hints for job hunting reach all participants. Moving forward, Zeals will continue to plan events targeted towards students in the 2023 graduating class engaging in job hunting. If you are even slightly interested, we would love to hear from you.
*The event is of the 【selection type】.
